# Brag Plan: Nebula

## What is this app?

Nebula maps the peer-reviewed publication evidence behind a biotech technology,
compound, or indication — each glowing node is a real paper, coloured by disease area,
and the distance between nodes encodes topical relatedness. It exists so a VC team can
get a fast, visual read on whether a start-up's science is actually backed by published
research before committing to due diligence.

## The angle

A pitch deck can claim anything. The only honest answer to "the science is proven" is
"show me the papers" — and that is exactly the work nobody wants to do by hand. Nebula
turns that chore into a constellation: 62 studies on the sample corpus, 199 edges of
relatedness, eight disease areas, every node a real paper you can open at its DOI.

The video sells **legibility of evidence**: not "AI for research", but *this specific
claim maps onto these specific papers, and you can read them*.

## Hook (first 2-3 seconds)

Black. A grey line fades up: **"A pitch deck can claim anything."** Then a hard cut, on a
beat, to gold and bigger: **"Show me the papers."** The turn is the whole hook — it is the
investor's inner monologue, and it names the job Nebula does.

## Key moments (the middle)

- **The map assembles itself.** The real app chrome lands — brand, the topic banner
reading `cell-free stem cell secretome therapeutic potential in various diseases`, the
prompt box, the controls — and then the nebula builds: clusters of glowing papers
arriving one after another, edges drawing in, ending on the counters **62 papers** and
  **199 edges**.
- **The legend is the argument.** Eight disease-area labels fill in one by one —
*Secretome & EV General, Osteoarthritis / Cartilage, Cardiac / MI, COVID / Lung / ARDS,
Neuro / SCI / Ocular, Liver / Hepatology, Kidney / Renal, Wound / Skin*. The breadth is
the point: this is what "evidence" actually looks like.
- **Click a node, get a paper.** A simulated click opens the real detail panel with a real
citation and a real DOI — `Exosome secreted by MSC reduces myocardial ischemia/reperfusion
injury`, Lai RC et al., 2010, *Stem Cell Research* (Cardiac / MI), abstract: *"Foundational
study showing MSC exosomes reduce MI injury."* Then a second node: the COVID-19 expanded-access
trial, Sengupta V et al., 2026, *Stem Cell Rev Rep*. Nothing abstract — a title, a journal,
  a year, a link.
- **The honest gate.** The app says out loud `Free preview — sign in to build evidence maps`.
Browsing is open; building is metered. The product states its own limits.

## Outro / punchline

Three real lines land under the map, small and deliberate: `Browsing the map needs no
account.` · `Literature metadata from the OpenAlex index.` · `Beta by Consult Sciences
Ltd.` Then the payoff in gold — **PUBLICATION EVIDENCE MAPS FOR BIOTECH DUE DILIGENCE** —
the Nebula mark resolves, and `nebula.aeah.ai` sits beneath it. Hold. Music is gone; the
logo lands dry.

## User flow worth showing

The real flow, taken from the live app's rendered DOM (entry → key action → result):

1. **Entry** — the sample evidence map loads instantly, no account needed. Brand, topic
banner, and the constellation already there.
2. **Key action** — click a node (or type a technology/compound/indication and hit Build
Evidence Map). The detail panel slides in from the right.
3. **Result** — a real citation with its journal, year, DOI and abstract, plus the disease
area it belongs to. The investor now has a paper to open, not an opinion.

Scenes 2 and 3 are that flow. No marketing slides.

## Tone

- **Preset:** `polished`
- **Creative direction:** quiet instrument reveal — a scientific instrument coming online
in the dark. The evidence is the spectacle, so the edit stays restrained; motion is
  precise and orbital, never bouncy.
- **Interpretation:** fewer, longer holds; type settles and is given time to be read; no
whooshes, no lens flares, no fake growth charts, no "AI" sparkle. The glow of the
  constellation is the only ornament.

## Format: landscape — 1920x1080
## Duration: 19.4s

## Visual identity (from the project)

All values read from the live app's CSS and `docs/palette.md` (Apple dark-mode system palette).

- Background: `#000000`
- Primary text: `#f2f2f7`
- Muted text: `#8e8e93`
- Dim text: `#636366`
- Brand gold: `#ffd60a`
- Gold bright: `#ffe066`
- Orange: `#ff9f0a`
- Link mint: `#66d4cf`
- Panel fill: `rgba(0,0,0,.7)`, panel border: `rgba(255,214,10,.12–.25)`
- Disease-area colours (the legend, in the app's own order):
  `#aeaeb2` Secretome & EV General · `#ff453a` Osteoarthritis / Cartilage ·
  `#30d158` Cardiac / MI · `#0a84ff` COVID / Lung / ARDS ·
  `#64d2ff` Neuro / SCI / Ocular · `#ff9f0a` Liver / Hepatology ·
  `#66d4cf` Kidney / Renal · `#ac8e68` Wound / Skin
- Display/body font: `Inter` — the app uses `system-ui,-apple-system,…`, which a headless
renderer will alias and the gate rejects. Inter is the closest metric-compatible
stand-in for Apple's SF. **Documented substitution, deliberate.**
- Strongest visual element: the glowing node constellation itself, plus the app chrome —
gold-hairline panels on pure black, the gold topic banner with its left rule, the
  right-hand detail drawer.

Two deliberate, documented deviations from the product's own tokens:
1. Muted text lifted from `#8e8e93` to `#aeaeb2` where it is *readable text* on black, to
clear WCAG AA; `#8e8e93`/`#636366` stay for borders, dots and non-text chrome.
2. The `degree: N` chip in the real detail panel is **omitted** rather than filled with a
number we have not computed from the corpus. No figure appears on screen that was not
   read from the app.

## Share copy (draft)

A pitch deck can claim anything. Nebula maps the peer-reviewed evidence behind the claim —
62 studies, 8 disease areas, every glowing node a real paper you can open. Beta at
nebula.aeah.ai

## Audio direction

- **Role:** calm, steady bed with a few mechanical, motion-matched accents
- **Music:** `happy-beats-business-moves-vol-12-by-ende-dot-app.mp3` (109.96 BPM) — the
skill's recommendation for `polished`; steady and clean, reads as "serious instrument"
- **Music treatment:** enter low from the first line, lift as the map builds, hold through
the citation, then fade out across the outro (gone by ~18.0s) so the payoff and logo land dry
- **Music cue guidance:** preset read from
  `assets/music/cues/happy-beats-business-moves-vol-12-by-ende-dot-app.music-cues.json`
  (109.96 BPM; beat grid ≈0.55s: 0.56, 1.09, 1.64, 2.19, 2.73, 3.27, 3.82, 4.39, 4.91,
  5.34, 6.00, 6.56, 7.09, 7.64, 8.19, 8.74, 9.29, 9.83, 10.37, 10.93, 11.46, 12.02,
  12.55, 13.11, 13.64, 14.20, 14.73, 15.29, 15.84, 16.38, 16.93, 17.47, 18.02, 18.56).
The preset lists a single strong cue in the window (22.93s — past this video's end), so
run `npx hyperframes beats` for per-beat strength and treat the highest-strength beats as
the strong-cue layer. Intended strong-cue locks: **~8.19s** (counters complete / map
whole) and **~17.47s** (the payoff line). Beat-grid reveals: cluster arrivals 4.91–8.46,
  legend 6.00–8.19, outro lines 14.73 / 15.84 / 16.93.
- **Audio-reactive treatment:** subtle. Use music RMS/bass to let the constellation glow
and the vignette breathe — nothing more. No waveform bars, no equalisers, no strobing.
- **SFX posture:** sparse and precise (~10–12 cues across 19.4s). Soft arrivals for chrome,
a small click for the simulated node selection, a gentle whoosh/slide for the drawer, one
low impact on the payoff, nothing on the logo.
- **Audio-coupled moments:** the hook line-2 cut; each cluster arriving; the counter
ticking to 62 / 199; the node click + drawer slide; the payoff line.
- **Restraint rule:** audio must never imply more than is on screen. No riser, no whoosh on
a plain cut, nothing that suggests a reveal the visuals have not earned.

## Storyboard

### Scene 1 — HOOK — 4.00s
Pure `#000000`. At 0.56s a single grey line fades up, centred, ~40px, `#aeaeb2`:
**"A pitch deck can claim anything."** It holds and settles. At 2.73s (hard cut, no
crossfade) it is replaced by **"Show me the papers."** in `#ffd60a` at ~96px, holding to
the scene end so it is fully read. No other chrome. A very faint starfield drifts so the
frame is never static.
Sequential/interaction: yes — line 1 fades up; line 2 hard-cuts in and holds.
Audio intent: quiet; one low impact marks the turn at 2.73s.
Audio-coupled idea: soft impact on the line-2 cut; music bed enters low beneath.
Music: bed in from ~0.56s, low.
Transition mood: hard cut → Scene 2

### Scene 2 — THE MAP ASSEMBLES — 5.40s
The app comes online. Brand block lands top-left (constellation logo mark + **Nebula**
in gold gradient + `BETA` pill, and beneath it the real subtitle line
`Publication evidence maps for biotech due diligence · sample corpus: stem cell secretome ·
62 papers · 8 disease areas`), then the centred topic banner with its gold left rule
(`AI-ENABLED SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE COMPILATION` / `cell-free stem cell secretome therapeutic
potential in various diseases`), then the right-hand column (stats, prompt box with its real
placeholder `Technology, compound, or indication…`, `Build Evidence Map`, `Copy Link`), then
the control row (`Bake Static JSON` / `Download Corpus (ZIP)` / `Export CSV` carrying their
`PRO` tags, `Reset Corpus`, `Reset View`) and the footer credit line.
Meanwhile the constellation builds in the canvas: eight clusters arrive one after another,
each a knot of glowing papers in its own disease-area colour, edges drawing between them.
The counters tick up to **62 papers** and **199 edges** as the last clusters land, and the
legend panel fills in its eight disease-area labels one by one.
Sequential/interaction: yes — chrome arrives in order; eight clusters arrive in order;
legend labels fill one by one; both counters tick.
Audio intent: a soft mechanical build, light arrivals, no crescendo.
Audio-coupled idea: a light arrival per chrome block; a soft tick per cluster; counter ticks.
Music: bed lifts here.
Transition mood: soft crossfade → Scene 3

### Scene 3 — CLICK A NODE — 5.00s
A cursor drifts to a gold node in the Cardiac / MI knot and clicks (real app behaviour:
`Click a node for evidence details`). The detail drawer slides in from the right —
`rgba(0,0,0,.92)`, gold hairline on its left edge — carrying the real citation:
**`Exosome secreted by MSC reduces myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury`** in gold, then
`Lai RC et al. · 2010 · Stem Cell Research`, the link line `Open Paper ↗ · doi.org/10.1016/j.scr.2009.12.003`,
the abstract *"Foundational study showing MSC exosomes reduce MI injury."*, and the badge
`disease area: Cardiac / MI`. The drawer holds long enough to read the title in full.
At 12.02s a second simulated click swaps the drawer to the COVID node — **`Bone Marrow
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Extracellular Vesicle Treatment of Respiratory Failure from COVID-19`**,
`Sengupta V, Qian S, Ransom JT · 2026 · Stem Cell Rev Rep`, badge `disease area: COVID / Lung / ARDS`.
At 13.11s a single overlay line settles over the lower third in gold: **"Every node is a paper you can open."**
Sequential/interaction: yes — cursor moves and clicks twice; drawer slides in; content swaps.
Audio intent: two small selection clicks, one gentle slide for the drawer; otherwise quiet.
Audio-coupled idea: click SFX on each simulated click; drawer slide on the panel move.
Music: steady under.
Transition mood: soft crossfade → Scene 4

### Scene 4 — OUTRO — 5.00s
The drawer retracts and the constellation dims back. Three small lines settle in sequence,
~20px, `#aeaeb2`, one per beat at 14.73, 15.84, 16.93: `Browsing the map needs no account.` ·
`Literature metadata from the OpenAlex index.` · `Beta by Consult Sciences Ltd.`
At 17.47s the payoff lands centre-frame in `#ffd60a`, ~56px:
**PUBLICATION EVIDENCE MAPS FOR BIOTECH DUE DILIGENCE.** At 18.02s the Nebula mark
resolves above `nebula.aeah.ai` in `#aeaeb2`, with the constellation still drifting faintly
behind. Hold to 19.40s.
Sequential/interaction: yes — three lines settle one per beat, then payoff, then logo.
Audio intent: wind down; last impact lands on fading music, logo is dry.
Audio-coupled idea: one low impact as the payoff settles; nothing on the logo.
Music: fade out 16.4s → ~18.0s.
Transition mood: end — hold, fade

**Music mood for this video:** steady, clean, unhurried — an instrument, not an ad
**Audio summary:** a low bed that comes up as the map builds, ticks quietly through the
citation, then gets out of the way so the payoff and the Nebula mark land dry.

## Provenance of figures used on screen

Every on-screen figure was read from the live app at `nebula.aeah.ai` on 2026-10-03
09:22 UTC via the rendered DOM, or from the deployed source at commit `a34dd57`
(`consultsciences/Nebula-HF`, the revision the running Dokploy stack was built from):

| On-screen value | Source |
|---|---|
| `62` papers, `8` disease areas, `199 edges` | `#paperCount`, `#diseaseCount`, `#statEdges` read from the rendered DOM |
| topic line `cell-free stem cell secretome therapeutic potential in various diseases` | `#topicText` |
| `AI-enabled scientific literature compilation` | `.topic-label` |
| 8 legend labels | `#legend .litem` |
| `Free preview — sign in to build evidence maps` | `#quotaLine` |
| `↔ distance = relatedness`, `Click a node for evidence details · drag to orbit · scroll to zoom` | `#stats` |
| button labels, `PRO` tags, footer credit | `#controls`, `#siteFooter` |
| the two citations (title, authors, year, journal, DOI, abstract) | the app's own embedded sample corpus in `app.js` (`COMPACT`) |
| palette hexes | `docs/palette.md` + the app's inline CSS |

Nothing is estimated, rounded for effect, or invented. The `degree: N` field is omitted
rather than guessed.
